KS2 Intervention Support - Leeds

NextGen Teachers are proud to be recruiting on behalf of a Primary school in Leeds who are looking for a KS2 Intervention Support to start in the final half term before Christmas, on a full time basis. If you're passionate about supporting children in their learning and development, and looking to further your career as a Teaching Assistant, then this Intervention Support role may be for you.

KS2 Intervention Support roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning of learning activities by identifying and preparing resources required to support lesson plans and learning outcomes.
  • Assisting pupils' achievements by monitoring, supporting and having strong communication with class teacher.
  • Lead individual/small groups of children in teacher-led learning activities such as guiding reading, phonics and math's interventions.
  • Be able to use knowledge of KS2 curriculum to identify children's misconceptions and use different techniques to help support their development and learning.
  • Maintain upkeep of classroom resources and preparation of materials (e.g. books, pencils, art supplies, games, P.E activity set up etc.)
  • Support children with their independence and confidence both inside and outside of the classroom

KS2 Intervention Support Non-Negotiables:

  • Must have recent and relevant experience working with children and young people in an educational setting.
  • Must possess good numeracy and literacy skills in line with the National Curriculum.
  • Must have the ability to work well under the guidance of the class teacher and have good team player attributes.
  • Must have a passion for education and the welfare and safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Strong subject knowledge, particularly in KS2 and into upper KS2
