We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a Year 5 class in a vibrant primary school in the Leeds area. This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to pupils during lessons, helping them stay engaged and focused on their work.
  • Assist with the preparation and organisation of teaching materials and classroom resources.
  • Work with individual students or small groups, particularly focusing on literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects.
  • Offer additional support to pupils with specific learning needs, helping them overcome barriers to learning.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued and encouraged.
  • Assist the teacher in monitoring pupil progress and providing feedback on achievements.
  • Supervise students during breaks and other non-classroom activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Exhibiting adeptness in active listening and effective verbal communication, fostering positive rapport with children and comprehending their requirements.
  • Offering varying degrees of personal attention, encouragement, and assistance tailored to individual children's needs.
  • Hold an Enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one through Randstad
  • Patience, empathy, and understanding to cater to the diverse needs of students.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other professionals in an educational setting.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK (No Sponsorship provided)
