They produce popular snack brands such as Hula Hoops, McCoy’s, Pombear, KP Nuts, Butterkist popcorn, Tyrrells, and popchips.The RoleAs a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be an integral member of the Engineering function at the Butterkist popcorn factory. You will provide comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and maintenance engineering services to safely sustain and improve production operating efficiencies in line with the continued growth of the business.Salary: £45,240 per annumKey Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain production and ancillary equipment, property, and facilities to minimize downtime and meet production process requirements.
  • Create PPM schedules, maintain accurate maintenance records, and complete data entry within appropriate timescales.
  • Act as host for contractors on site, ensuring all necessary documentation is available and completed, and safe working practices are agreed upon before work commences.
  • Respond to production requests for engineering assistance and monitor visual management boards to address flagged items.
  • Work with production teams to improve their knowledge of equipment, enabling them to quickly identify and resolve problems or refer them as needed.
  • Follow policies and procedures in conjunction with the food quality management system and retailer-specific technical standards.
  • Play an active role in health and safety, identifying hazards and risks, and ensuring all health and safety procedures and safe working practices are followed at all times.

  • City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Mechanical or Electrical experience
  • Demonstrable experience gained within a food manufacturing environment is ideal.
