Project Manager – Wakefield
I am currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in civil engineering to join my client's team. This role will focus on delivering infrastructure projects within the water sector, primarily dealing with both wastewater and clean water projects on the Yorkshire Water Framework. The ideal candidate will have experience in project management within a civil engineering environment and will be eager to take on challenging and rewarding projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and lead project teams comprising both internal and external resources, ensuring successful project delivery across various investment values.
• Establish and nurture relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
• Present projects at specific stages to stakeholders, securing necessary governance and financial approvals.
• Lead, motivate, and develop strong and successful teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Demonstrate good commercial awareness and understanding, ensuring projects are delivered within budget and in line with contractual obligations.
• Ensure full compliance with CDM regulations and other relevant legislative requirements, maintaining a strong focus on health and safety.
• Prepare and submit comprehensive project and programme reports, covering aspects such as progress, costs, milestones, and resource demands.
• Effectively manage contracts, understanding various contract types and ensuring they are executed efficiently.
• Apply surveying, setting out, and engineering techniques using the latest technologies to ensure precision and accuracy in project execution.
• Maintain high standards of quality assurance, ensuring all work is carried out in line with company procedures.
• Manage material deliveries and procurement in alignment with the project programme, ensuring optimal use of resources.
• Uphold and promote high safety standards, ensuring the site is a safe and tidy place to work and visit.
• Keep all site records and registers up to date, adhering to internal quality assurance procedures.
• Engage with stakeholders, nearby residents, and local communities to ensure smooth project execution and positive relations.
• Project a professional image at all times, maintaining strong communication skills and a methodical approach to tasks.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• A strong track record in successfully delivering civil engineering projects, with a deep understanding of commercial management and contractual obligations.
• Extensive experience in managing projects, particularly within the construction or engineering sectors, with a focus on water sector infrastructure projects.
• Confident in communication and negotiation, able to build and maintain successful relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and team members.
• Excellent planning and organization skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate effectively.
• Analytical and methodical in approach, with a positive attitude toward solving challenges and maintaining composure under pressure.
• A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil, Construction, or Engineering disciplines is anticipated, along with relevant certifications in Construction Site Health and Safety and/or CDM.
• A valid UK driver's license and the flexibility to travel as required, with the ability to work within an agile environment.
