PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To provide strategic direction, leadership and management of Aspires services in a specified area. To lead in the development and administration of Aspire, in accordance with it’s Policies and Procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To provide a strategic overview to Area Service Managers to enable them to establish, maintain and develop a pattern of effective management which will provide for customers individual needs. Whilst enabling them to be independent and promoting dignity and choice.

To contribute to Aspires Annual Plan and individual Service Plans and initiatives.

To be involved in the development of service provision including multi-agency team working.

To ensure that all services are managed efficiency and effectively and in accordance with Aspires policies, procedures and legislation.

To take a strategic approach to the support planning process.

To deliver a service that has a clear referral and entrance criteria.

To attend and chair nomination panel meetings.

To meet all the requirements under the CQC Regulations including that of Registered Manager within the relevant service area.

To prepare and present complex and contentious reports, and management information to a range of stakeholders including non-specialists.

To lead and undertake people related tasks in relation to workforce planning, performance and conduct and health and well being in compliance with Aspire procedures.

To promote wellbeing and safeguard adults from abuse and ensure all safeguarding concerns are reported and ensure the safeguarding plan is implemented.

To take a lead in the recruitment and retention of the workforce.

To effectively address, report and act on all concerns in relation to customers and service delivery within the appropriate procedure.

To promote and develop partnership working within the local community and with other stakeholders.

To monitor and review effective rota management to meet the needs of customers within agreed budgets.

To take accountability for all staffing budgets and ensure financial objectives are achieved.

To undertake supervision and appraisal of Area Service Managers on a regular basis to meet the regulatory Standards.

To lead on the implementation of an annual training plan and ensure that it is monitored and updated on a regular basis.

To take an active role and involve customers and staff in the on going service development of Aspire/Learning Disability Services and facilitate advocacy.

To undertake designated roles within Aspire Procedures such as Disciplinary, Grievance and Discrimination Complaints, Attendance Management and Improving Performance procedures.

To undertake on call duties as required.

To undertake other duties appropriate to the post

To comply with the requirements of all Aspire policies, procedures and staff instructions, including responsibilities under the Health and Safety Policy and Procedures.

To actively promote and support Aspire Policies on Equality and Diversity and to work in an anti-oppressive manner.
