Practitioner Psychologist

Are you a Practitioner Psychologist passionate about supporting care-experienced children and young people? We are expanding our psychology services and looking for a Clinical/Counselling/Forensic Psychologist to join the team. The role will be home-based but will involve travel to services throughout the North of England and South of Scotland.

You will be providing reflective therapeutic practice through consultation, assessment, formulation, training, and direct work with children and young people, helping them reach their full potential. This is a dynamic role for someone with a keen interest in trauma-informed care, therapeutic parenting, and child/adolescent mental health.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist psychological input, assessments, and interventions.
  • Offer guidance and support to care teams on managing mental health, neurodiversity, and trauma-related behaviours.
  • Embed a trauma-informed approach, recognising the impact of adverse childhood experiences.
  • Engage in risk assessments and provide psychological risk management advice.
  • Deliver training on therapeutic approaches and contribute to service development.

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Clinical, Forensic, or Counselling Psychology.
  • Professional registration with the HCPC.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and therapeutic parenting approaches.
  • Strong knowledge of child mental health and safeguarding practices.
  • Supervision experience with trainee psychologists or other professionals.

Benefits:
