Do you have a passion for understanding and using psychology methods for supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health Issues?

PK Education are working alongside three SEMH settings in the Leeds who are looking for graduates with a degree or diploma in psychology that want to begin their career with them.  Each setting boasts a large, vibrant and spacious classrooms catering to a maximum of 9 pupils. Around the spacious bright corridors are little outdoor sanctuary spaces that can be used for interventions or for pupils that want to gather their thoughts with their key support assistant.  This role is for individuals that have a keen interest in providing the highest quality support and development methods for pupils with SEMH.  This will be a temporary role, however if your work ethic is above and beyond there is possibilities of a permanent role.

For this role you will:

  • Have a degree or diploma in psychology, child psychology, Level two Teaching assistant or equivalent.
  • Have experience working with children with SEMH or special educational needs.
  • Demonstrate methods using positive reinforcement behaviour management with evidence of a positive outcome.
  • Have a clear understand of the different social emotional and mental health issues pupils may have and how this may affect their day to day lives.
  • Be proactive with the ability to go above and beyond.
  • Have creative and innovative methods in your approach to supporting the pupil you will work with.
  • Must have a strong interest in working with pupils with SEMH.
  • Team Teach is desirable, but not essential as training will be given.
