Buyer and Planner - Are you an experienced Buyer who enjoys developing relationships with suppliers? We are looking for a Buyer and Planner for our client who is a leading distributor of chemicals. GENERAL DETAILS:
  • Full-time / Permanent
  • Mon-Fri / 35 hours per week
  • Leeds City Centre office
  • Flexible working hours with a minimum of 3 days a week in the office

THE ROLE:Working as a key member of the UK Purchasing department, as a Buyer and Planner, you will build relationships with suppliers and source materials for customers. 
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers both in person and over the phone.
  • Negotiating with assigned suppliers to ensure the best price and best payment terms are achieved for all orders.
  • Managing stock levels of meet both company objectives and customer expectations.
  • Proactively manage slow moving stock and quarantine material.
  • Attending meetings with the sales team to promote materials and give market information for them to provide to customers.
  • Ordering products as required from approved suppliers.
  • Sourcing new products and bringing on new suppliers.
  • Providing accurate pricing to UK and Export Sales Teams
WHAT ARE THEY LOOKING FOR? Someone who has:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Good organisational abilities and able to work both on your own and as part of a team.
  • Buying experience with a distribution environment.
 Bonus to have:
  • CIPS Qualification.
  • Chemistry / Science based degree.
