Despatch Supervisor

We are seeking a Despatch Supervisor to manage operational metrics and supervise employees in a high-quality manufacturing environment. This role offers the opportunity to drive cultural change through daily interactions with direct reports and support departments, with exposure to various levels of the organisation and internal suppliers.

Responsibilities

- Oversee the Shipping Department and ensure achievement of daily KPIs for throughput, cost, and efficiency- Lead H&S investigations, perform risk assessments, and manage safety audits- Identify and deliver cost-saving projects, managing them to completion- Understand sales requirements, customer sensitivities, and capacity constraints to define local plans for operators and equipment- Coach the team to improve quality and throughput performance- Lead continuous improvement activities by championing 6s and lean manufacturing methods- Collaborate with area team leaders to improve communication and engagement on safety, quality, and performance- Apply the theory of constraints to manage manufacturing throughput- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures

Qualifications

- Excellent people management skills- Understanding of key manufacturing processes and matrices- Experience in delivering Continuous Improvements/Cost Reduction/Cultural Change- Strong IT skills with experience in Microsoft Office applications- Project management skills- A formal qualification (or equivalent) in an Engineering discipline (HNC or higher)

Day-to-day

- Identify weekly & monthly sales target profiles- Chair the daily sales meeting and drive key initiatives for better performance- Ensure zero external escapes and continuous improvement of the 6S audit score- Direct management responsibility for team leaders and operators- Deliver operator performance improvements and reduce safety risk in the area
