Are you an experienced Quantity Surveyor looking to join a UK leading Tier 1 Main Contractor working on a large high profile project with career progression?

Fawkes & Reece are proud to be partnered with a UK leading Tier 1 Main Contractor recruiting for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team based in Leeds working on large new build residential scheme consisting of over 300 new homes. My client is a collection of four leading businesses dedicated to create a lasting and sustainable future across infrastructure, regeneration, high-rise BTR & student accommodation and new homes.


The role of a Quantity Surveyor

You are to be the commercial lead on projects and be responsible for the commercial success of the projects whilst adhering to commercial administration procedures. To promote and deliver a collaborative environment with both the client and throughout the management of the subcontract / supply chain account.

Contract Management Responsibilities:
* Negotiate terms and conditions of subcontracts.
* Manage and process payments for specialist subcontracts and key suppliers.

Contract Administration:
* Monitor and track contract obligations.
* Undertake site visits to administer the contract in line with project progress.
* Monitor and report on contract performance in terms of program, cost, and key events/issues.

Budget Management:
* Work with the project team to evaluate the impact of budget changes.
* Capture and report cost variances.
* Collate Defined Cost Records for client audit.

Reporting and Documentation:
* Produce monthly Cost Value Reconciliation.
* Generate Earned Value Analysis reports.
* Validate Subcontract Applications/Payments data.


Requirements for a Quantity Surveyor

Experience:
* Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
* Background working for similar sized company (Tier 1, Tier 2 or Regional Main Contractors)
* BSc in Quantity Surveying or a related commercial field.
* Membership in an appropriate professional body.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Excellent understanding of legal and contractual aspects.
