Senior Quantity Surveyor - New Build Housing & Care

Location: Leeds (Office) and Bridlington (Site)

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum + Company Car or Car Allowance

My client is a Tier 1 leading construction company based nationwide, renowned for delivering high-quality housing and care sector projects. With a strong reputation in the industry, they are embarking on an exciting 2-year project in Bridlington, creating 54 new-build houses and 68 extra-care apartments with an estimated project value of £25 million. We are now seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the dynamic team.

The Role:

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful financial management of our project in Bridlington. Reporting to their head office in Leeds, you’ll oversee cost estimation, contract negotiation, and project budgets. Your experience in housebuilding, care homes, and apartment projects will be invaluable as you manage costs, liaise with contractors, and guide the project to completion on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the quantity surveying functions for a £25 million residential and care project.
  • Manage cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
  • Conduct risk, value management, and cost control.
  • Engage in contract management, negotiation, and procurement processes.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and site teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely project delivery within agreed cost limits.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the housebuilding, care home, and/or apartment sectors.
  • Strong understanding of project cost management, budgeting, and financial planning.
  • Excellent knowledge of construction contracts, legalities, and industry standards.
  • Highly skilled in managing multiple contractors and stakeholders.
  • Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Full UK driving license (essential).

Location & Working Hours:

  • Site-Based: 3 days per week in Bridlington, supporting the team on-site.
  • Office-Based: 2 days per week in Leeds for project meetings and reporting.
  • After six months (probation period), hybrid working options will be available.
