Senior Quantity Surveyor - Utilities (mainly water)

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Leeds, focusing primarily on utility projects, particularly within the water sector. This role is available on either a permanent or contract basis, depending on the candidates preference.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead cost management across all phases of utility projects, with a strong emphasis on water infrastructure.
- Provide accurate and timely cost reporting, forecasts, and budget analysis.
- Manage procurement processes, contract administration, and supplier relationships.
- Prepare, negotiate, and settle final accounts and variations with contractors and clients.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver projects within agreed budgets and timelines.
- Identify risks and opportunities, providing proactive solutions to drive project success.

Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in utilities, with a strong background in the water sector.
- Demonstrated ability in managing all aspects of quantity surveying, from cost planning and budgeting to final account settlement.
- Strong understanding of contracts, including NEC and other forms of contracts relevant to the utilities industry.
- Excellent analytical and negotiation skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Professional qualifications (e.g., RICS) are preferred but not essential.
