Position: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Location: Leeds

Day rate: £425 - £475 per day, DOE

Are you looking to start 2025 with a fresh and exciting opportunity? Do you have experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor? Have you worked on rail or civil engineering projects? If yes then please read below!

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to join a tier 1 contractor on a £1.2b major railway project which covers the North East of England. The framework covers a range of railway related projects including stations, buildings and civils, electrification, power, signalling, telecommunications and track.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of contracts based on NEC3 forms of contract
  • Responsible for the successful delivery of these contracts ensuring to achieve set margin target
  • Liaise regularly with the client aiming to develop and maintain a good working relationship and resolve issues at the project team level
  • Successful change management both at the Main Contract and Subcontract level
  • Maintain cost control throughout the life of the contract and take proactive measures to maintain the desired balance between Value and Costs
  • Analyse and report on costs, accruals and forecast costs using company accounting and commercial systems available
  • Support in the tendering process by preparing subcontract enquiry documents, tender analysis and recommending the project team in the selection of the most suitable subcontractor/supplier
  • Procurement of subcontractors and materials
  • Subcontract management including drafting of the subcontracts, assessment of application for payments, change management etc.
  • Supervising 2-3 junior commercial staff
