Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager

Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager to join our team in Huddersfield, working on the TransPennine project for Network Rail on behalf of a consultancy. This role involves managing the utilities package for Network Rail, ensuring the successful delivery of engineering activities, and providing commercial support. The ideal candidate will possess a degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying or a related field and have extensive experience in the utilities sector.

Key Responsibilities:
Manage and report on the commercial and financial performance of utility projects.
Lead the delivery of engineering activities for utility projects, including repair, modification, and overhaul of supply points.
Support the commercial team in delivering utilities to Network Rail.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with Network Rail Engineering and relevant regulatory bodies.
Develop and implement programs to improve maintenance of utilities assets.
Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards.
Prepare, submit, and agree on interim payment applications to maximize cash flow.
Manage subcontract accounts from procurement to final account agreement.
Handle contractual evaluations, variations, and claims.
Provide mentorship and support to junior commercial staff.

Skills:
Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
