Compliance Manager

Salary: £42000-£47000

Reed Food & FMCG are recruiting on behalf of an established Manufacturer based in Leeds. Our client is seeking a highly diligent Compliance Manager with exceptional attention to detail. This pivotal role requires a conscientious individual who understands the significant impact of defective products on a company's financial standing and reputation. The Compliance Manager will be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing our quality and compliance standards.

Day to Day of the role:

Manage BRC and ISO accreditation requirements, ensuring compliance with both standards
Oversee the site's Quality Management System, implementing improvements, conducting reviews, and ensuring updates are made
Lead the HARA team and manage the site HARA plan
Conduct third-party and customer site audits related to quality
Manage the internal audit process, scheduling, and completion
Handle nonconformances from audits, ensuring they are logged, actioned, and monitored for effectiveness
Establish and monitor quality and compliance objectives and KPIs
Prepare for quality meetings and senior management review meetings, including report presentations
Manage supplier approval and performance monitoring processes
Oversee the calibration schedule for equipment
Act as the contact for the pest control contractor
Write, review, and update site policies and management procedures
Manage document and record control
Present compliance updates during customer quality reviews and daily meetings
Lead the crisis management team, arranging mock withdrawals and traceability exercises
Assist with quality aspects and cover for the Quality & Technical Coordinator when absent

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Proven background in quality and regulatory compliance with essential field experience (Within FMCG - Food, Beverage or Packaging)
Strong influencing skills and the ability to articulate messages clearly
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a busy and varied workload
Problem-solving and proactive thinking abilities
Flexibility and exceptional attention to detail
Proficiency in MS Office packages, including Excel and Word
A willingness to learn and ambition to grow within the organisation
Experience working to deadlines and targets in a fast-paced environment
Experience in building relationships and liaising with stakeholders
Data analysis and statistical skills
A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
