We are excited to be recruiting for a growing client of ours. This organisation, a construction company that refurbishes commercial properties into residential properties. Is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join their team. If you have a background in finance and property, this could be the position for you.

The Role:

This Accounts Assistant will be handling the day-to-day financial operations of the business. Construction industry experience is essential, as well as proficiency in Xero, CIS (Construction Industry Scheme), and VAT.

Key Responsibilities:
* Processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations using Xero
* Managing CIS submissions and ensuring compliance
* Preparing and submitting VAT returns
* Assisting with payroll and subcontractor payments
* Monitoring accounts payable and receivable
* Supporting the finance team with general bookkeeping and reporting
* Liaising with suppliers, subcontractors, and HMRC regarding financial queries
* Assisting in month-end financial reporting and reconciliations

Requirements of an Accounts Assistant
* Essential: Experience working in the construction industry
* Proficient in Xero accounting software
* Strong knowledge of CIS and VAT processes
* Experience in bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, and financial administration

Skills and Attributes:
* Strong written and verbal communication
* A self-starter - someone who can hit the ground running and manage multiple financial tasks.
* Accuracy and attention to detail.
* Loyalty and trust.
