We are looking for a dedicated and proactive Cover Supervisor to join a thriving Secondary School in Kirklees. If you have the experience and passion for working with young people, this role offers a fantastic opportunity to support students and teachers while gaining valuable classroom experience.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in maintaining continuity of education during teacher absences. You'll be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons across a variety of subjects, ensuring students remain engaged and productive throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone with prior experience in a school setting who is ready to step into a key support role within a dynamic and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Delivering lessons and managing classroom behaviour in the absence of the regular teacher
- Supervising students to ensure they remain on task and complete work to a high standard
- Providing support and guidance to students where needed
- Collaborating with teaching staff and other school professionals to create a positive learning environment
- Adapting to various subjects and year groups with confidence and flexibility
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Cover Supervisor role or similar educational setting
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students
- A calm and confident approach, with excellent communication skills
- A passion for supporting young people's education and development
- The ability to start as soon as possible
