English Teacher - Leeds LS4

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated English Teacher to join a thriving secondary school community in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about English language and literature, eager to spark a lifelong love of reading, writing, and critical thinking in students aged 11-16.

As a key part of our English department, you’ll help deliver a rich, engaging curriculum that challenges and supports all learners. Main Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach creative, differentiated lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, in line with the national curriculum.
  • Create a welcoming and inclusive classroom environment that promotes curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and adjusting teaching approaches as needed.
  • Assist in the development and refinement of curriculum materials and schemes of work.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to continuously raise standards of achievement.
  • Support students of all abilities to achieve their personal best.
  • Engage fully in school life, including events, parent evenings, and ongoing professional development.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent), with a degree in English or a closely related field.
  • Strong knowledge of curriculum design, assessment practices, and effective classroom management.
  • A reflective practitioner committed to ongoing professional growth.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • A positive, proactive mindset and a genuine passion for educating young people.
