We’re currently looking for a passionate Design & Technology Teacher to join a 'Good’ Ofsted-rated secondary school in Leeds (LS19). This full-time role involves teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students, helping them develop essential practical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities. The school is committed to fostering innovation and hands-on learning, making it an exciting opportunity for a teacher who wants to inspire the next generation of designers, engineers, and creators.
Your Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging D&T lessons across a range of disciplines, such as Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, or Resistant Materials.
- Encourage students to think critically and develop their problem-solving skills through hands-on projects.
- Support students in using tools, machinery, and digital technology safely and effectively.
- Provide constructive feedback and track student progress to help them achieve their potential.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop engaging and innovative lesson plans.
- Maintain a well-organized and fully equipped workshop/classroom environment.
- Assist students with coursework and project work, ensuring they meet assessment requirements.
- Contribute to extracurricular activities and school events that promote Design & Technology.
What We’re Looking For:
- A qualified teacher (QTS/QTLS) or an experienced instructor with a strong background in Design & Technology.
- Specialism in Product Design, Engineering, Graphics, Resistant Materials, or Textiles (desirable but not essential).
- A passion for hands-on, practical learning and the ability to inspire students.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage learners of all abilities.
- Experience teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students (A-level experience is a plus).
