We are seeking a passionate and dynamic English Teacher to join a vibrant secondary school community in Leeds. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is enthusiastic about English literature and language, and committed to inspiring a love of reading, writing, and critical thinking in students aged 11-16.

As a key member of the English department, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality curriculum that challenges and engages all learners, regardless of their starting points. Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons across KS3 and KS4 in line with the national curriculum.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and a love of learning.
  • Assess student progress regularly, providing timely feedback and adapting teaching strategies as needed.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum resources and schemes of work.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to raise standards of attainment and achievement.
  • Support students with varying needs to reach their full potential.
  • Participate in school events, parent evenings, and CPD opportunities.

  • A qualified teacher (QTS or equivalent) with a degree in English or a related subject.
  • A strong understanding of curriculum planning, assessment strategies, and classroom management.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a reflective approach to teaching.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
