We are looking for a dedicated Geography Teacher to join one of our secondary schools in Leeds on a part-time basis. This role will primarily focus on KS3, with some Year 10 classes. The school offers a stimulating and dynamic learning environment where every child matters, and positive student outcomes are highly valued. The school's innovative approach fosters teamwork, idea sharing, and collective success.
Essential Requirements:
- Relevant teaching qualifications (QTS or equivalent).
- Experience teaching Geography at KS3 and KS4.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Skills:
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Geography.
- Excellent communication skills to engage and inspire students.
- Effective classroom management to create a positive and productive learning environment.
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning styles and needs of students.
- Experience in pupil assessment and providing constructive feedback.
- Critical thinking and the ability to encourage students to question and explore.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver a cohesive curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging lessons covering physical geography, human geography, and environmental issues.
- Develop creative and interactive lessons that inspire curiosity, critical thinking, and a deeper understanding of geographical concepts.
- Foster a disciplined yet inclusive classroom environment, encouraging active participation and positive learning experiences.
- Regularly assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the curriculum is delivered effectively and support is provided for students' individual needs.
- Complete additional duties around the school when required
- Attend staff meetings, parents evenings and organise after school clubs
- Support students with achieving their targets
