Job Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Humanities Teacher to join an academic team at a secondary school in Leeds. The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching a range of subjects within the Humanities discipline, including History, Geography, Social Studies, and Cultural Studies. The teacher will inspire students through engaging lessons, critical thinking exercises, and interactive learning experiences that foster an appreciation for the Humanities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, develop, and deliver high-quality lessons in Humanities subjects aligned with the UK National Curriculum.

  • Create an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that encourages discussion and inquiry.

  • Utilize a variety of instructional methods, including lectures, group discussions, project-based learning, and multimedia resources.

  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback.

  • Encourage students to develop critical thinking, analytical, and research skills.

  • Integrate technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance learning outcomes.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop cross-disciplinary learning opportunities.

  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and progress.

  • Participate in school events, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.

  • Uphold school policies and maintain professional and ethical standards in all interactions.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Humanities, History, Geography, Education, or a related field.

  • Certification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in the UK.

  • Experience: Prior teaching experience in Humanities at the secondary school level preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to engage and motivate students of varying abilities and backgrounds.

  • Proficiency in integrating technology into classroom instruction.

  • Strong organisational and classroom management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
