We are seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of Religious Education to join a vibrant school in Kirklees, starting ASAP on a full-time basis until Christmas. This position involves teaching KS3 and GCSE Religious Education, with responsibilities including planning, marking, and ensuring high-quality lessons that engage and challenge students.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging Religious Education lessons to KS3 and GCSE students, inspiring curiosity and discussion.
  • Prepare students for assessments and support their understanding of various worldviews and ethical issues.
  • Take responsibility for marking and providing constructive feedback to support student progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure a well-rounded and coherent curriculum.
  • Maintain a positive classroom environment that fosters respect, open-mindedness, and a love of learning.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in Religious Education or a related subject.
  • Experience teaching RE at KS3 and GCSE level.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and planning skills.
  • A valid Enhanced DBS check on the update service (or willingness to apply for one).
  • Should be eligible to work in the UK without sponsorship.
