Graduate Learning Support Assistant (SEND)

We are currently recruiting for multiple Graduate Learning Support Assistants to join a supportive and dynamic team at a well-regarded school in Leeds. These roles are ideal for graduates with a passion for supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and those who are interested in pursuing a career in education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to pupils across Upper KS1 and KS2 with SEND.
  • Support teachers in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of individual learning plans for pupils.
  • Manage behaviour effectively, using positive reinforcement and de-escalation techniques.
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Set clear boundaries and maintain high expectations for pupil behaviour.
  • Nurture and encourage pupil progress, promoting independence and confidence.

Requirements:

  • Graduate-level education (preferably in Psychology, Education, or related fields).
  • A passion for working with children, particularly those with SEND.
  • Strong behaviour management skills.
  • Ability to set clear boundaries while building positive relationships with pupils.
  • A nurturing approach with the ability to de-escalate situations.
  • Enthusiasm for a career in education and a desire to make a difference.
