Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Leeds

We’re currently working with a fantastic secondary school in the LS20 area of Leeds, looking to welcome a passionate and committed Higher Level Teaching Assistant to their team. You’ll be supporting students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them build confidence, stay engaged, and reach their full potential.

As a HLTA, your role will be varied and rewarding. You’ll work closely with both students and teaching staff, providing a mix of one-to-one support, small group interventions, and occasional whole-class cover. You'll play a key role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Building strong relationships with students to understand and support their individual learning needs
  • Delivering tailored interventions to keep students on track with their progress
  • Leading lessons or group sessions within an agreed lesson framework
  • Assisting in lesson planning, classroom organisation, and maintaining a focused learning environment
  • Monitoring student progress and contributing to reports and parent meetings

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Meets the HLTA standards or is working towards them within six months of starting
  • Has strong literacy and numeracy skills, and relevant qualifications (A-level or equivalent)
  • Has previous experience working in a secondary school setting
  • Is enthusiastic, approachable, and genuinely passionate about education.
