A new Special Educational Needs school in East Leeds is seeking a qualified Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) with a passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This school is dedicated to providing quality education and support to students with complex needs in a purpose-built environment and wants an HLTA who is able to deliver that.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individual pupils, small groups, and whole classes.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's development.
  • Direct the work of other adults in supporting learning activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with ASD in the UK.
  • HLTA qualification or equivalent qualification.
  • A proactive and caring attitude.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in planning and delivering lessons.
