Behaviour Support Worker | Special Needs School

Location: Leeds | Full-Time | Immediate Start

Are you experienced in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and managing challenging behaviours?

Career Teachers is seeking a committed and compassionate Behaviour Support Worker to join a Special Needs School in Leeds on a full-time basis. You will work one-to-one with a student who requires personalised support, helping them to thrive both academically and emotionally. This position is available to start immediately.

Team teach training would be beneficial.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Provide one-to-one support to a student with SEMH needs, assisting with both academic tasks and social/emotional development.

- Implement strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviours, promoting positive outcomes for the student.

- Work closely with teachers, SEN staff, and external professionals to ensure a consistent and supportive approach.

- Help the student engage fully in classroom activities, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

- Maintain accurate records of the student's progress, behaviour, and development.

**Requirements:**

- Proven experience working with SEMH students and managing challenging behaviours.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to behaviour management.

- Ability to work full-time and start immediately.

- Experience in a special needs setting is highly desirable.
