About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated femaleSupport Workers to join our team in the Leeds Pudsey area to provide person centred care for a vulnerable young lady who is unable to communicate verbally, non-mobile with complex clinical care needs. We provide a competitive rate of £12/hour. This role is 10 hours/week (with the potential to increase), night shift; and involves providing overnight care, ensuring her safety, and monitoring her overall wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide personal care and medication administration.
- Monitor oxygen saturation levels and ensure access to oxygen 24/7.
- Supporting this young lady with all areas of her care, including moving and handling using appropriate equipment.
- Monitor and respond to her emergency seizure support plan.
- Conduct Sats monitoring and overall wellbeing checks.
- Engage with sensory activities, particularly those involving lighting and colours.
Specific Requirements:
- Experience in personal care and working with children with complex medical needs is not essential as full training will be provided.
- Appropriate moving and handling training.
- Familiarity with emergency seizure support plans and central line training for PN feeding (training provided).
- Ability to work overnight shifts from 9pm to 7am on a rolling rota.
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs ensuring they remain safe, calm and comfortable at all times.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Must have at least 6 months UK care experience and right to work (RTW) in the UK.
- An up-to-date DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service – Should you need to apply for a new DBS we can support you with this.
- An up-to-date CV with all employment history.
- To be able to commit to an assignment, to ensure structure and stability for the service user.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and an understanding approach.
- Availability: Flexibility to work nights with a rolling rota – either Sunday, Monday or a Friday, Saturday.
