About the Role:

Career Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a 1:1 Support Worker in a special needs school in Leeds. This role involves providing personalized support to a child with autism, helping them navigate their school day and engage in learning activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with autism throughout the school day.
  • Assist with classroom activities, ensuring the child is engaged and participating.
  • Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt learning materials to meet the child's needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Monitor and record the child's progress and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with autism or other special needs.
  • Strong understanding of autism and strategies to support children with autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's development.
  • Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or a related field are desirable.
  • Ability to work full-time in Leeds.
