Adult's Social Worker Team: Learning Disabilities Location: LeedsDetails:The learning disability service in Leeds requires an experienced social worker to join us in supporting adults with learning disabilities in a strengths based way, promoting empowerment and development of independence. You will need good working knowledge of the application of the Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act. The role is varied, working with adults of all ages with a wide range of needs and their carers, including where there are complex health needs, and where safeguarding and risk management are required. You will need need to undertake short term work, dealing with referrals and urgent matters on duty, and longer term work, often alongside other agencies. Experience of working on cases under active oversight of the Court of Protection is desirable.We are a busy service and the work is challenging. We are also a very supportive service and work in person from the office base at least two days a week where team members can more easily provide or seek guidance, make better decisions with input from others, and have reflective conversations.
