We have an exciting career opportunity to work with one of our key clients based in Leeds. This is a secure environment that supports the individual needs of the children and young people in their care. Providing placements for ages 10 -18 years old with full residential care, educational facilities, and healthcare provision.
You will have a minimum 2 years' experience of working with young people and a Level 3 qualification in Children and Young People or equivalent is advantageous.
Pay and Benefits
- Basic Pay - £26,421 (Average earning including Secure Allowance £32,482)
- Hours - Average 37 hours per week. A mixture of early and late shifts and sleep-ins.
Responsibilities of the role
- Help to create a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for young people.
- Build trusting relationships, understanding young people's needs and interests.
- Provide primary care that is responsive to individual needs.
- Manage behaviour and develop strategies for longer term progress.
- Plan and organise activities to enhance young people's experiences day to day and for special occasions.
- Nurture each child's personal development, their education and wider learning
You will need
- A passion for working with children and young people
- The ability to work in a challenging and changing environment
- A resilient and 'can do' mindset
- The ability to build rapport quickly and work compassionately with our young people
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
