Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Employment Advisor to join a Charity Organisation based in Leeds on an initial 3 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

The Role:

  • Carry out a comprehensive initial assessment with all participants to assess barriers, develop an individual action plan with clear goals, and identify barriers and measures to overcome these barriers
  • Raise aspirations of beneficiaries to move into employment, education or training by demonstrating LMI-informed career opportunities
  • Improve and Enhance Health and Wellbeing by reducing health-related barriers to employment through delivery of health-related interventions
  • Support the creation of workplace-based opportunities for beneficiaries with health conditions by providing local employers with practical support
  • Carry out a comprehensive initial assessment with all participants to assess barriers, develop an individual action plan with clear goals, and identify barriers and measures to overcome these barriers
  • Undertake participant eligibility check of all participants where necessary
  • Build new relationships, and maintain existing relationships with local organisations, agencies, businesses, and the public - creating an informed network of beneficiary-facing organisations through collaboration at management (steering groups) and practitioner levels (communities of practice).
  • Work in partnership and carry out joint key working to achieve improved positive outcomes for participants

Requirements:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the barriers to unemployment, training, and education
  • Proven ability to build trusting relationships with workless participants and use innovative approaches to help retain them on the project and inspire people to reach their goals
  • Experience of working in communities and engaging with unemployed or economically inactive participants
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop new and maintain existing effective relationships with all partners and referral sources
