Helpline Worker/Access and Assessment Team (AAT) Support Worker
Location: Leeds
Position: Temporary (until March, with possible extension depending on funding)
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Rate: 13.93 per hour
About the Role:
Caritas is proud to support a renowned charity dedicated to combating domestic violence. We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Access & Assessment Team (AAT) Support Worker who can hit the ground running with minimal training. As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, trauma-informed support to victim-survivors of domestic abuse. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing emotional support
- Conducting risk assessments
- Developing safety plans
- Signposting to appropriate services
The AAT is the first point of contact for Leeds Domestic Violence Service for anyone experiencing domestic abuse. The team works closely with victim-survivors, assessing risks and developing support and safety plans. Additionally, the AAT serves as the initial contact for professionals making referrals, seeking support for victim-survivors, or wanting advice.
Requirements:
- Experience in domestic violence/domestic abuse (DV/DA)
- Ideally, experience working on a helpline.
- Ability to start immediately with minimal training.
- Due to the nature of the job, only female applicants are considered
