Strategy and Project Officer - Leeds
Research Delivery Network Coordinating Centre
Location: Leeds City Centre
Hours: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary (Up to 12 weeks) likely to extend

We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and proactive temporary worker to join our Strategic Development team as a Strategy and Project Officer for a period of up to 12 weeks. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work for National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) Strategy and Projects teams supporting the development and operational delivery of the RDN strategy and projects.

Requirements

  • Organise and run both face to face and online events and meetings including, but not limited to, identifying and contracting with appropriate venues, supporting agenda development, presentation development, arranging travel and overnight accommodation, and providing on the day support in nationwide locations.
  • Provide post-event/meeting support including ensuring actions are carried out as appropriate and disseminating outputs and impact.
  • Work with team members to produce external and internal reports, publicity material and presentations relating to the RDN Strategy and strategic projects including proof-reading, editing and inputting where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the development of good office systems, making recommendations for improvement and implementing agreed changes and maintaining responsibility for own professional development.
  • Assist in the collation and analysis of data and intelligence from a range of sources relating to the RDN Strategy and strategic projects.


Skills and Experience

  • Written and verbal communication skills with the ability to articulate information clearly and with attention to detail.
  • Computer literate, with experience of using word processing and spreadsheet software and the ability to adapt and learn how to use new programmes and systems.


Essential requirements specific to this role

  • Experience of working in an administration environment, including supporting meetings, programmes of work, and projects.
  • Experience with arranging and managing meetings via online applications such as Zoom/MS Teams and Google Hangout.
  • Experience of gathering, processing, and maintaining data including via surveys/feedback.
  • Experience in handling and storing confidential information in an appropriate manner.
  • Familiarity with health and care, and/or research terminology with an understanding of the health and care environment.
