Software Engineering Director - SaaS Start-Up

Based in Leeds, in brand new, bespoke offices

£120,000 to £140,000, £24,000 Bonus, Pension, Healthcare, Dental

This is the safest and most exciting bet for a CTO or Software Engineering Director that I have seen in a start-up for years. The company is at the forefront of the decarbonisation of heat, leveraging cutting-edge technology encompassing AR and VR to redefine domestic heating solutions.

Started thee years ago, they are fully funded and are now have a major organisation as their majority shareholder.

They have developed a Software as a Service (SaaS) platform that is currently at the MVP stage and is now starting to operationalise and commercialise having gained enterprise "proof of concept" contracts with two of the largest energy companies.

With this significant growth potential, they are looking for a talented individual to drive their SaaS platform from MVP to market leader.

To be considered for the role you must have previously worked in a start-up environment and taken a SaaS product to market.

The Role:

You will need to still have your hands on the development tools while the company scales up to enterprise level over the next six months.

This will see the company grow for 4 initial heads to 25 and that is just to get to the standing still point!

You will be an excellent team manager with the ability to recruit, develop and guid top-class software engineers.

You will take architectural and design responsibility for taking the SAAS product from MVP to production which may include changes to code bases and practices.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in hands-on software development within a start-up environment
  • Architecture design skills
  • DevOps and DevSecOps knowledge.
  • Proficiency in multiple programming languages and frameworks
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A track record of leading agile teams successfully
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and passion for innovation
  • Ideally a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Our client is a pioneering company focused on achieving net zero emissions in domestic heating. With a strategic partnership and significant investment, they are expanding their services and capabilities and the company is committed to innovation and growth in the global heat pump market.

If you are a visionary leader with a strong technical background and a passion for innovation, the Software Engineering Director role could be your next exciting opportunity. Join them in their mission to revolutionise domestic heating and be at the forefront of technological advancement.
