1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and enhancing the learning experience for students, particularly those with special educational needs. This position requires a nurturing individual who is passionate about working with children, including those with autism, and is committed to fostering an inclusive environment.

Roles:

  • Assist the lead teacher in delivering engaging lessons and educational activities.
  • Provide support to children with special educational needs, particularly Autism, ensuring their individual requirements are met.
  • Foster a positive learning environment by encouraging communication and interaction among students.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour by implementing strategies to promote positive conduct.
  • Collaborate with teachers to develop tailored educational plans for students requiring additional support.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student progress and behaviour.
  • Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in special education.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs or autism, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively engage with students and staff.
  • A genuine passion for educating and nurturing young minds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to take initiative when required.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards children's learning processes.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare would be advantageous but are not mandatory.
