An Autism Specialist all through school is wanting to hire an SEN Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their team permanently starting mid-November. They are seeking a compassionate, patient, and empathetic individual with a passion for supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Their ethos is dedicated to providing quality education and support to students with complex needs.Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver learning activities for individual pupils, small groups, and whole classes.
  • Assess, record, and report on pupils' progress.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour.
  • Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to support each student's development.
  • Direct the work of other adults in supporting learning activities.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with ASD in the UK.
  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification.
  • A proactive and caring attitude.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in planning and delivering lessons.

Environment:

  • Class size ranges between 8 and 12 students.
  • Between 2 and 4 adults per class, depending upon the needs of pupils and their EHCPs.
  • Working day is 08:30am to 3:30pm (Fridays until 4:15pm).
  • A caring team of adults with a shared ethos of empathy to improve the lives of the students.
