SEN Teaching Assistant
Job Description:
NextGen teachers are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with Special Educational Needs as well as have a strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
Requirements:
- A Level 2 qualification in childcare is advantageous
- Familiarity with British sign language or makaton
- Previous experience working with SEN children
- Previous childcare experience
- Strong communication skills to confer with parents and staff
- The ability to support a classroom of children with their social, emotional and physical development
Roles:
- Provide individualised support to children with Special Educational Needs
- Implement strategies to enhance communication skills among children, adapting techniques to suit individual needs.
- Monitor and document the progress of each child, providing feedback to parents and team members regularly.
- Create a safe and inclusive environment that encourages exploration and learning through play.
