Day-to-day of the role:- Individual Support: Provide tailored support to pupils with EHCPs, adapting teaching methods to meet individual needs.
- Educational Assistance: Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
- Classroom Environment: Foster a safe and supportive classroom atmosphere.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver holistic education.
- Progress Monitoring: Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teaching team and parents.
- Daily Activities: Support pupils with daily activities, including personal care if required.
- Behaviour Management: Implement strategies to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- Resource Preparation: Help prepare learning materials and resources.
- Proven experience working in schools or relevant transferable experience.
- Understanding of SEN and experience with pupils with complex needs, SEMH, challenging behaviour, and PMLD.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
