We are looking for a Teacher for a pre-internship programme at one of our clients schools.

Pre-internships are a one year programme for learners with EHCP's to then progress onto a Supported Internships the following year. The days would initially be Tuesday's & Friday's.

Our Pre-Internship programme is an opportunity for learners to develop employability skills in preparation for work and for learners to think about the skills and qualities needed for working life andexplore job interests through work experience. The programme is a mix of classroom activity, community visits and work placements.

Overview of Curriculum Intent:

  • Introduce students to a variety of career fields and industries.
  • Help students identify their interests, strengths, and values.
  • Provide opportunities for students to network with professionals in different fields.
  • Enhancestudents' communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
  • Develop professional etiquette and workplace ethics.
  • Provide hands-on experience in a professional setting.
  • Allow students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world situations.
  • Develop confidence and independence.
  • Identify a Supported Internship placement.
In order to be successful for this role you will need experience of working with Special Educational Needs, ideally with a background of SEMH and knowledge of EHCP's.

Experience of teaching life / employability skills is desirable.

You need to be resilient, engaging and able to deal with challenging behaviours.

This role will be temporary initially with the opportunity to secure a permanent role for the right candidate.

This is initially a part time role working Tuesday and Friday each week.
