We are seeking dedicated SEN Support Staff to join a specialist SEN school in Leeds. This role is ideal for individuals with direct or transferable experience in supporting children with special educational needs. Day-to-day of the role:- Provide tailored support to students with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.
- Work closely with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
- Assist with the development of social skills and independence in students.
- Employ a variety of strategies to promote a positive learning environment.
- Monitor and report on the progress of students.
- Collaborate with other support staff, therapists, and professionals within the school setting.
- Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your understanding of SEN.
- Experience in an SEN setting or a role with transferable skills.
- Understanding of the challenges faced by students with additional needs.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
- Additional training or experience with specific disabilities is highly favourable.
