An SEN school in Leeds is looking for an experienced Special Educational Needs Teacher for a long-term cover position.

Specialist SEN Teacher - Leeds, West Yorkshire- Leeds, West Yorkshire- February 2025 start- £165 - £215 per day (Depending on PayScale/Experience)- Full time position.

- Knowledge of SEN education and teaching is essential, along with knowledge round varying curriculum for a range of age groups and needs.

Teacher Information:

You will be working with children across a range of classes who have varying special needs, including Autism, Complex Physical and Medical Needs, along with challenging behaviours. Ideally you will be adaptable and will be able to plan, prepare and deliver engaging and creative lessons for pupils. The classes will be made up of small groups of 6 - 8 children, your timetable will be split around varying groups of pupils.

You will be working in a highly inspired environment teaching the pupils key life skills. This is an area where a lot of the pupils eagerly engage and can express their creative side. As the teacher it is vital to focus the pupils' attention on the task at hand but also allow the pupils to use their imagination as much as possible.The students are supported by experienced LSAs (Learning Support Assistants) which will work alongside you so that you feel supported within the classroom and can also ensure that all pupils are developing well. The senior leadership team are also very supportive, providing many teaching resources to help assist with creative and visual learning.
