Castlefield Recruitment is delighted to be partnering with Leeds Beckett University on their search for a Head of Procurement.  

Leeds Beckett University (LBU) is a public university in Leeds, with two campuses; the City Campus in the heart of Leeds City Centre and the Headingley Campus located just on the outskirts of the city. Role: Head of Procurement Type: Permanent Hours: Mon-Fri (37 hours a week)Salary: £56,921 - £69,757

Responsibilities will include: •    Reporting to the Director of Finance, providing leadership and strategic direction through the procurement process •    Ensure the University maintains a best-value approach to procurement in line with legislation and the University’s Financial Regulations•    Lead the development and implementation of a university-wide procurement strategy that aligns with the University’s strategic plan•    Advise on appropriate routes to market, manage complex contract negotiations, and champion strong supplier relationship management•    Create opportunities for strategic supplier engagement with the University

The Person:•    Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) membership, or actively working towards full qualification •    Extensive experience in procurement across a broad range of goods and services, with a proven track record in delivering savings and measurable benefits•    Demonstrated success in developing and implementing process improvements•    In-depth knowledge and expertise in practical procurement within a public sector environment •    Familiarity with the upcoming changes in procurement legislation
