Purchasing Manager

We are proud to partner with a multi-award-winning e-commerce company based in Leeds, supplying their products to B2B clients worldwide.

As a Purchasing Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and optimising purchasing strategies, leading a team, and driving cost efficiencies. Reporting directly to the SLT, you will oversee a team of two buyers, ensuring the procurement process aligns with the company's growth ambitions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with UK and international suppliers.

  • Analyse spend and profit margins to secure cost-effective deals.

  • Manage daily purchasing activities, ensuring stock availability and profitability.

  • Forecast demand and mitigate risks to optimise procurement.

  • Track and report key purchasing metrics, driving improvements where necessary.

  • Ensure compliance with import/export regulations.

  • Lead stock management and optimisation initiatives.

  • Enhance purchasing systems and processes for greater efficiency.

  • Conduct weekly purchasing meetings to review KPIs and team performance.

  • Provide leadership and development for the purchasing team.

  • Maintain supplier performance standards and oversee contract negotiations.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a purchasing role.

  • Purchasing qualification (Degree, CIPS, or equivalent) desirable

  • Strong knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.

  • Experience with Sage 200 software is desirable.

  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.

  • Highly organised with a keen eye for detail.

  • Ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders and third parties.

  • Strong leadership capabilities with experience in team management.
