The Role
The Supply Chain Manager will ensure that the company's procurement and supply chain processes are optimised, and that the company's inventory is always stocked with the right quantity of products to the tightest stock turn possible.
The successful candidate will be responsible for forecasting product demand, coordinating with suppliers and overseeing inventory management.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for the management of specific suppliers including procurement of products
Manage and develop supplier relationships building positive long term relationships whilst taking into account business ethics, cross cultural and global issues
Responsible for the negotiating of pricing contracts and terms
Forecast product demand and manage inventory levels.
Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely product delivery.
Oversee the procurement and supply chain processes.
Develop and implement strategies for effective inventory management.
Generate reports on supply and demand trends.
Handle any supply chain issues that may arise.
Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Preferred Experience/ Skills - Essential
Have proven experience of working with a large portfolio of products
Ideally you will have experience in Door products, although this is not a necessity. Experience in areas such as kitchens or similar products would be considered.
Excellent time management, analytical and organisational skills
Demonstrate a meticulous eye for detail, consistency and accuracy
Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
Proven supply chain management experience in UK & International wholesale market with a working knowledge of importing goods including currency and freight costs.
Specific experience in purchasing products from the Far-East would be ideal for this role. Any existing relationships in this geographical area would be useful.
Strong commercial acumen including an awareness of container configurations and loadability of products
Awareness of compliance e.g. UKTR/FSC/ISO9001/SMETA
Previous experience of working with a product/category portfolio of over 2000 SKUs including multi-component products
Previous experience of preparation of cost analysis
Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Demonstrate expertise in written communication for contacts where
Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure
Strong inventory management background
