The idealRICS Chartered Building Surveyor? Someone with solid experience in these sectors, with a sharp eye for construction contracts and expert-level CAD skills. You'll be working on an exciting mix of schemes, including office-to-residential conversions, innovative new-build residential developments, and cutting-edge educational initiatives backed by SCA and CIF funding.

The package
  • Up to £50,000 basic salary per annum

The RICS Chartered Building Surveyorrole
  • Conduct building surveys, inspections, and condition reports for residential and educational properties
  • Undertake Quantity Surveying tasks, such as cost estimating, tender analysis, and cost management
  • Act as an Employer's Agent, managing project delivery on behalf of clients
  • Project management responsibilities from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards
  • Provide expert advice on property matters, including structural defects, repairs, maintenance, and building pathology
  • Prepare and manage project specifications, schedules of work, and contracts
  • Utilise CAD software to create and amend drawings in support of project development and planning
  • Administer construction contracts and provide comprehensive contract management services
  • Engage effectively with clients, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project outcomes
  • Conduct dilapidation surveys, party wall matters, and other property-related assessments
  • Produce detailed reports, feasibility studies, and recommendations for clients

The person
  • RICS Chartered Building Surveyor status (essential)
  • 3-5 years post qualification experience(essential)
  • Proven experience in the residential and educational sectors (essential)
  • Experience in Quantity Surveying, Employer's Agent, and Project Management roles(desirable)
  • Proficiency in CAD software, with the ability to create and modify technical drawings
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts
  • Excellent project management and client-facing skills
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to sites as required (essential)
