HGV Class 1 Driver

Driver Hire Leeds West are currently working alongside a well known and reputable industry leader of structural steelwork, fabrication and installation who has grown rapidly over the last decade and this expansion has led to an opportunity to recruit a HGV Class 1 Driver to join their team. The ideal candidate should be safety-conscious, physically fit and adaptable to the requirements of the role.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate the vehicle to transport steel to and from designated locations.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, regulations, and company driving policies.
• Accurately complete all pre and post trip vehicle inspections
• Complete delivery and collection documentation accurately.
• Assist with loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring that items are handled safely.
• Assist with site clean up, material handling and equipment assembly.
• Follow health and safety procedures and always wear appropriate PPE.

Qualifications and Skills

• Valid HGV Class 1 licence
• CPC
• Digital Tacho
• Physical fitness to handle manual labour tasks.
• Good communication and team work skills.
• Experience of using straps and chains to secure the load.
• Experience of operating plant machinery and FLT is desirable.

Salary

• Salary range of between £38,000 and £40,000 per annum based on a 48hr week.
  • There could be scope for a 40hr week with a lower salary of £35,000 however, this will be discussed at interview
