In short: We're building out a new Data Centre and we need a TDM / PM with network and infrastructure skills to deliver a number of projects.

Banking experience is nice-to-have but we're more interested in networking / infrastructure / DC.

Within the Group Infrastructure Services portfolio our Data Centre Strategy LAB has been charged with defining and provisioning data centre capability to support the Groups future needs.

The work involves building a new data centre, making it operational from an IT perspective and pairing it with the existing data centre. This will then allow the centralisation of all our IT services delivering a simplified and more sustainable service for the future.

As a Technical Delivery Manager, you will be key to the delivery of IT Networks to support the new data centre in opening for business.

What we want from you!

You'll be a self-motivated and proactive teammate who has an eye on the bigger picture but can apply laser focus to ensure delivery. You're up for the challenge of working on a large, sophisticated programme that will drive significant change across our business. You'll enjoy storytelling, look to identify associations and gaps, ask the questions others don't, drive out clarity from ambiguity and be able to challenge the norm to drive business outcome. You will:

  • Provide effective implementation of IT Network projects, engaging key IT SMEs to ensure partners are advised of the introduction or migration of impacted systems and the technical capability is in place to support potential incidents
  • Drive projects forward using technical knowledge to aid decision making in the design and implementation phases
  • Deliver strong outcomes in the form of hitting key deadlines and risk remediations within established agile project management frameworks
  • Identify candidates for process improvement, developing a plan and delivering as part of a wider Change Management programme
  • Successfully deliver within defined risk management frameworks, ensuring the Bank is not unnecessarily exposed to adverse influences
  • Deliver excellence, utilising the Bank's existing development framework to provide opportunities and embed knowledge

And the skills/background you possess?

  • Experienced in managing complex projects, building and delivering against plans
  • Proven track record of implementing and leading improvements through the project lifecycle ideally in a Data Centre environment
  • Promotion and embedding of project management methodologies and governance frameworks in line with Group Project Management Standards
  • Experience of taking projects through a governed process into a live environment to introduce service in an expedient but safe manner

What skills are we looking for from you?

  • Excellent organisation, communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to deliver projects/workstreams using Bank-defined standards, including Agile with experience of using Jira and Confluence for day-to-day management of activities
  • Ensure compliance with key governance policies, such as Service Introduction, Implementation Readiness Reviews, with auditable results shared through Jira
  • Risk and issue management - identifying threats to project delivery and instigate recovery actions
  • Own project finances to ensure delivery is achieved within budget
  • Maintain a resource-based view of project, ensuring that you have the right resources with the right capabilities to make sure you succeed
