Assistant/Senior / Principal Planning ConsultantLocation: Leeds

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading consultancy in their search for Planners at all levels, from Assistant Planner to those with significant experience in senior roles. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team offering hybrid working options and the chance to work on a wide range of exciting projects.

In this role, you will provide planning consultancy services to public, private, and third-sector clients. You will manage and lead planning projects, including planning applications, site promotions, and appeals. You will also oversee financial aspects of the projects, ensuring effective management of budgets and invoicing.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing planning consultancy services to a wide range of clients
  • Managing planning projects, including leading on planning applications, site promotions, and appeals
  • Drafting planning statements, preparing applications, and conducting site visits
  • Reviewing and commenting on technical reports
  • Liaising with technical consultants, statutory consultees, and planning officers
  • Representing the company at planning committees and public consultation events

What we're looking for:

  • Formal qualification in Town and Country Planning (Master's/Postgraduate/First Degree)
  • Full RTPI membership (or eligibility for full Chartered Membership)
  • Relevant planning experience, ideally in the private sector
  • Strong knowledge of Town & Country Planning regulations and processes
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience in public speaking and liaising with stakeholders
