Graduate Transport Planner / Travel Planner
Â
My client is a specialist transport and sustainability planning services company boasting
a stellar reputation across the North West, Yorkshire, Midlands and the wider UK.

complex, challenging and varying scale developments making them possible from
a transport perspective.
Â
They have a prestigious portfolio of clients in major volume housebuilders, land
promoters, city centre regeneration specialists, retail parks, education facilities, local
authorities and the NHS.
Â
The majority of work has historically been secured through word of mouth and
repeat work, however their expansion plans and recent instructions mean they are
seeking a Graduate Transport Planner that is keen to expand their knowledge and
learn from some of the best in the industry.
Â
The role will include the day-to-day technical input into a variety of projects. This will
involve the preparation of Transport Assessments and Travel Plans including trip
generation, distribution and assignment, junction capacity assessments, highway
design including use of CAD, accident data analysis, public transport and site
accessibility assessments including the use of GIS and Public Transport Accessibility
software.
Â
You will meet with a wide variety of clients to offer and deliver solution based
strategies that improve accessibility and address the multiplicity of issues associated
with single car occupancy. You will also assist in delivery of their market first
sustainable travel nudge campaign across large employers making full use of social
media and technology to deliver key messages.
Â
You will be required to meet with varied stakeholders including designers, Local
Authorities, Councillors, residents et al to achieve goals and develop strong
long term relationships. As required you will negotiate with stakeholders and partners
along with project management of contractors to maximise sustainable travel
utilisation.
Â

The company also advocates personal development and responsibility and the successful
applicant will be required to take ownership of projects at an early stage, with
appropriate guidance and mentoring being provided. As such you will be expected
to work effectively both as part of a team and individually. Excellent written and

Â
It is also essential that the successful applicant has a passion for reducing the
environmental impact of travel as this is a founding principal and
something which they are striving to achieve every day.
Â
As the job is effectively split into two specialisms the spec is split into two. They would
be pleased to meet with any individual who has good experience in one or both of
the specialisms, provided that there is a willingness to assist and develop their
